Boys Soccer Falls to Heritage Hall in Season Opener
Bethany, OK - Bethany (4A) took on Heritage Hall (5A) in a season opening matchup on Friday, March 2 and the Bronchos came up just short in a 2-1 loss to the perennial soccer power. Heritage Hall has had much success over the past few years and the Bronchos put forth a great effort, leading through much of the first half against the Chargers.
The Bronchos only goal was in the first half of play when Junior Reyes connected on an assist by Benito Ausley. The game stayed competitive the rest of the way with Heritage Hall outshooting Bethany seven to five on frame, but the Bronchos held 56% of the possession in the match. The Bronchos took the 1-0 lead into halftime, but Heritage Hall quickly tied the game after the break and then just a few minutes after that they netted what would become the game winner. This was a hard fought game by two teams who both have high expectations this season.
