Jim Drummond is entering his second season as the head baseball coach at Bethany High School after a 24-11 records in his opening year in 2017. Drummond, who is also the Dean of Students at Bethany High School, has been coaching baseball in the state of Oklahoma since 1995.
Drummond, a 1979 graduate of Lawton High School, went to college at the esteemed United State Military Academy in West Point, NY where he played baseball for two years.Since his return to Oklahoma he has had coaching stops at Moore HS, Putnam City HS, and Yukon HS.
Drummond spent the longest time at Putnam City HS from 1996-2011 where he was a head coach for six of those seasons. During his time at Putnam City he had one State Tournament Appearance, a Regional Championship, and two Regional Runner Up finishes. Drummond was also an assistant football coach at Putnam City and was a part of a State Semi-Final team and three different State Quarter-Final teams.
For the six years prior to coming to Bethany, Drummond was an assistant coach at Yukon HS. While at Yukon Drummond helped lead the Millers to the State Tournament four times, the State Semi-Finals three times, and earn five Regional Championships. In addition to team success Drummond has coached numerous great baseball palyers including many that have been drafted such as Andrew Heaney, Garen Wright, Joey Nation, Jon Denney, and Garrett Benge.
Away from school and coaching Drummond enjoys all sports and following the stock market. He is married to his wife, Connie, and they have two daughters, Haley and Cara.
