Boys Golf Finishes 3rd at Regionals to Qualify for the State Tournament

Poteau, OK - Bethany (4A-#9) had a long drive to their regional golf tournament in Poteau on Monday, but after a third place finish the the drive home will be a lot more fun! The 36 hole regional tournament is always a long day, but this one was extra long with the players on the course for over 10 hours. The Bronchos persevered though and fought their way to a 3rd place finish, shooting 696 over 36 holes. The top three teams automatically qualify for the state tournament next week in Weatherford.

Jackson Payne led the way for the Bronchos, shooting 161 (79-82) for the tournament as he came away as the 4th place individual in the regional. Wyatt Geissler was the next Broncho, shooting 173 (88-85); followed by Coleton Calderon shooting 177 (92-85). Landon Hess at 185 (93-92) and William Walstad at 186 (94-92) finished things off for the Bronchos. Bethany finished behind regional champion Cascia Hall (4A-#4), who shot 658, and the runner up Holland Hall (4A-#6), who shot 688.
