Bethany, OK - It was homecoming night in Bethany and the Bronchos (4A-UR) took advantage of a great home crowd and rolled to a district win over Elgin (4A-UR). The story of the night for the Bronchos was the three different defensive or special teams touchdowns, which was started off by a blocked punt by Karter Fouts on the opening possession of the game that was recovered for a touchdown in the endzone by Brendan Hughey. Later in the first half Ebby Lechtenburg caused a fumble by the Elgin quarterback which was scooped up by Payton Tolle and returned 49 yards for another Broncho Touchdown. This final score of the first have sent the Bronchos to the locker room with a 35-7 lead. After halftime Jocelyn Malaska got in on the party when he jumped a bubble route by Elgin and returned it 20 yards for another Broncho defensive touchdown, to take a 42-7 lead. The Bronchos would score one more offensive touchdown and take a 48-14 lead going into the fourth quarter. The Bronchos were then able to get some valuable game time experience for some younger Broncho players throughout the final quarter, although Elgin did score a couple of times to make the final score 48-33.

The Bronchos were led on the evening once again by Jaden Gilliland who carried the ball 24 times for 176 yards and two touchdowns. Gray Adams continued to throw the ball well and had 149 yards passing on just 14 attempts. Adams threw for two touchdowns, a 21 yard toss to Tolle and a 60 yard strike to Taylor Heim in the second half. The Bronchos go back on the road this week to take on Newcastle (4A-#8) who is coming off of a tough 23-17 defeat at the hands of Weatherford (4A-#3).
