Bronchos Defeat McLoud to Finish 10-0 and District 4A-2 Champions

Bethany's Nate Jones runs for a big gain.

Bethany, OK - The Bethany Bronchos football team capped off an undefeated regular season Friday night with a 36-16 victory over McLoud (4A). The Bronchos earned the victory behind a strong performance from their stable of running backs Nate Jones, Jaden Gilliland, and Jack Gilliland. The senior Nate Jones needed only three carries to get into the endzone for the seventh time this season. Jaden Gilliland got into the endzone twice, while Jack Gilliland added the final score for Bethany. Sam Brandt was also effective through the air for Bethany as he gained 223 yards on just eight completions with one of those being an 11 yard touchdown pass to Jordan Flinton. Flinton was also the leading receiver on the night with 121 yards on just four catches, while Ben Lawson added 114 receiving yards.

The Bronchos moved to 10-0 on the season, which marks the first undefeated regular season since 1999 when Bethany competed in Class 2A. Bethany will take on Clinton at 7:30 PM in the first round of the OSSAA Playoffs on Friday, November 15, at home. This game features a rematch of last season's semi-final matchup between Bethany and Clinton. In that one the Bronchos won 31-30 in double overtime to advance to the State Championship game.
