Volleyball Advances to the State Semi-Finals in Come From Behind Thriller Win

The Lady Bronchos huddle after their thrilling, come from behind victory over Regent Prep to head to the State Semi-Final.

Moore, OK - After two sets in the OSSAA Class 4A State Quarter-Final Match Bethany (4A-#4) was down and out with a 0-2 deficit to Regent Prep Academy (4A-#5). But the Lady Bronchos faced the challenge and in the third set began to orchestrate a dramatic come from behind 3-2 win that came all the way down to the final point of the final set to punch their ticket to the semi-finals on Saturday morning. 

Regent Prep took the first two sets 20-25 and 21-25 after Bethany led by as many as four points in each of those. The third set went much the same, but Bethany was able to run the lead all the way to 21-10 and would win by a final of 25-14 to cut the overall Regent lead to 1-2. In the fourth Bethany again jumped out to an early 11-4 lead, but Regent would battle back to just a two point deficit in the late stages, but the big hitting of Whitney Bowie and Addie Ray put this game away late by a tally of 25-20. This would send the game to a final and deciding fifth set. The fifth set was close the entire way with no team every getting more than a two point advantage. Bethany led 14-12 in the late stages before Regent stormed back to tie the game, but Bethany won the next to points to win the deciding set 16-14.
