Bronchos Bring Home a 3rd Place Finish in Tuttle Tournament

Tuttle, OK - The Bethany baseball team traveled to Tuttle last week to participate in their annual spring break tournament which included a very strong field, including defending Class 4A State Champion Byng, perennial 4A power Tuttle, and the #3 ranked team in Class 2A, Latta.

The Bronchos finished the pool play portion of the week with a 3-1 record notching 9-0 victory over the defending 4A State Champion Byng on an impressive pitching outing from senior Chase Wetwiska. After defeating Byng they also got another impressive win, 9-2 over Latta as Jake Adams controlled the game on the mound. After those two impressive wins the Bronchos struggled against the host school Tuttle and eventually fell 11-1 in the final pool play game. On Saturday the Bronchos played Elgin (4A) in the 3rd place game and looked very good in an 8-0 victory. Overall on the tournament Wetwiska went 2-0 on the mound, Jake Adams had a win, and Deigo Ramirez took home the win over Lawton Eisenhower (5A). Wetwiska, Ben Lawson, Connor Walstad and Tyler Broyles all had home runs during the tournament. 

The Bronchos had a light week this week with only one varsity game on the schedule, which was a 12-4 victory over El Reno (5A). On Monday, April 2 the Bronchos start a stretch where they will play eleven games in twelve days, including six district games. Their next home game is a district matchup with Harrah on Tuesday, April 3 at 5:00.
