Bronchos Advance to Area Championship Game

The Bronchos (4A-#12) had a tough road game this past Saturday in the Class 4A Regional finals against Anadarko (4A-#5) and after being locked in a 15-15 tie at halftime the Bronchos grabbed control in the 3rd quarter and never looked back on the way to a 54-47 win. It was a fantastic 2nd half performance by Bethany that was a total team effort where many guys contributed with big minutes. This win marked the first regional championship for Bethany since 2009, which was also the last time a Bethany team has been in the state tournament.

With the win Bethany advanced to the 4A Area Championship game against a familiar foe, Kingfisher (4A-#1). The Bronchos have dropped two games to Kingfisher this year, but this one will have a little more at stake, a trip to the 4A State Tournament. The game is set for 8:00 PM on Friday, March 1 at Washington High School. A win would put Bethany straight into the state tournament field the following week. A loss by the Bronchos would send them to the Area Consolation game on Saturday evening, March 2, also at Washington High School. The consolation game would most likely include a re-match with Anadarko pending their outcomes in the loser's bracket this weekend. Let's send a great contingent of Broncho fans down to Washington Friday night to support our Bronchos in their quest for an Area Championship.
