Bethany Lady Bronchos Hold Off Chandler to Advance to the Semi-Finals
Bethel, OK - The Bethany Lady Bronchos moved on to the Semi-Finals of the 1st United Bank Classic at Bethel with a 39-37 victory over Chandler in the opening round. Freshman Lauryn Scalice led Bethany with 15 points while Bree Cotter added 13 points of her own. The Bronchos led by as many as 11 points in the game, but Chandler battled back to just a two point deficit late in the game before the Bronchos finished things off. Sydney Walstad was great on the defensive end with five blocked shots in the game while Sylvia Lambert and Alicia Garrett combined on defensive to hold Chandler's leading scorer to just 11 points.
Bethany will take on Perkins-Tryon (4A-#13) in the semi-final round at 4:00 PM on Friday.
