Bethany Announces Quinn Wooldridge as Head Boys Basketball Coach

Bethany, OK - Bethany Public Schools is excited to announce Quinn Wooldridge as the next Head Boys Basketball Coach. Wooldridge comes to Bethany after serving as the Head Men's Basketball Coach at Oklahoma Baptist University for the past three seasons. He says, "I am excited about getting started at Bethany. This district is a great place to teach and coach, and the basketball program has a bright future which I'm looking forward to being a part of." In addition to serving at OBU, Wooldridge has had other successful head coaching stops at the collegiate level including right here in Bethany at Southwestern Christian University. At both OBU and SCU Wooldridge was tabbed with moving the programs from a smaller division of competition to a larger one. At SCU, from 2012-2015, Wooldridge helped guide the Eagles from participation in NAIA Division II to NAIA Division I. Then, after returning to his collegiate alma mater, OBU, Wooldridge guided the Bison as they made the difficult jump from NAIA Division I to NCAA Division II.

Bethany High School Principal Matthew Flinton had this to say about Wooldridge, "We are extremely excited to welcome Coach Wooldridge and his family to the BPS community! At his previous coaching assignments as a college and high school head coach, Coach Wooldridge demonstrated a strong work ethic, professionalism, and a desire to build great relationships with his students and players. We are confident Quinn possesses the strong leadership qualities necessary to lead our players and continue the great tradition of Broncho Basketball."

In his collegiate coaching career Wooldridge has also served as an assistant coach at Oklahoma City University, a program that has six NAIA Division I National Championships in the sport of men's basketball. He has also served as assistant coach for NAIA programs such as Wayland Baptist University, Lyon College, Oklahoma Baptist University and Missouri Baptist University. In addition to coaching at the collegiate level he has also been the head boys basketball coach at both Edmond North High School and McAlester High School. Wooldridge has coached five NAIA All-American players and 22 All-Conference players and made trips to the NAIA National Tournament in 2010, 2008, and 2002.

Wooldridge is a native of McAlester, OK and he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Oklahoma Baptist University in 1999 and his Master's Degree in Education from East Central University in 2003. He played collegiately at OBU and earned the title of all-time leader in playing victories as he played in 124 wins in his career. He is also OBU's career leader in three point field goals with 361. He is the third leading scorer in OBU history with 1,885 points and he played in four NAIA National Tournaments, including a runner up finish in 1997. Wooldridge and his wife Andy have three children, Michal (15), Lukas (12), and Gabi (5).
